Room In The Inn: Washing of Feet

Reflect on what it truly means to be in relationship and wash our neighbor's feet.

Christ washed the feet of his disciples - his friends and those whom he was in relationship with. Washing of feet was a sign of compassion and intentionality. It was an intimate act between two individuals without condition or agenda.

It was simply an act of love.

We as believers in a God of love and grace are called to show that love and grace to those who need it most.  Through that call, we are transformed by one another.

  • How are we to build relationships with those who we don’t understand or misrepresent?

  • What are ways we can change society’s view of individuals who experience homelessness?

  • Why is it so hard for us to “wash the feet” of others?

  • Why is it so hard for us to let someone wash our own feet?

  • How do we welcome all to the table and truly be in relationship with one another?
