Finding Home in our Shared Humanity

Reflect on how we can be transformed through our shared humanity and how we can provide a safe home to those who are marginalized.

Extra wide whatishome

This year’s past election has unmasked many issues in our country. We have seen fear of people different than ourselves. We have felt the pain of people who have been forgotten.  We have heard the cries of the people who are hurting and who are scared.  However, we have also seen the need of acknowledging our shared humanity in others.  It is in that connection of being human that we begin to have compassion for others, that we uncover our own guilt, and where we are transformed.

How do we recognize our shared humanity? As people of faith, why is this important?

Our common humanity is where home can be for many people whose homes are no longer safe or welcoming. Our connections with each other can be an escape from war torn places.

What does home mean to you?

How can we empower others to create homes?
